Murraoke is a simple mobile song-request system used at live karaoke events. This service is operated by Murrough O’Brien (“we”, “us”, “our”). We comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR).

1.2 What data we collect

When you submit a karaoke request, we collect:

• Singer’s name
• Gig code (identifies the event/venue)
• Song information (title, artist, key, time, explicit flag)

We do not collect account details, phone numbers, analytics data, advertising identifiers, or location information. We do not use cookies, analytics, or third-party tracking scripts.

1.3 How we use your data

Your data is used only to:

• Deliver your song request to the correct karaoke host
• Allow the host to call you up to sing
• Help prevent duplicate or spam requests (via a short cooldown)

We do not use your data for marketing or profiling, and we do not sell or share your data with third parties.

1.4 How your data is stored

Your request is:

• Passed directly to the event host
• Temporarily stored in the request system during the event
• Automatically cleared after the event
• Never added to any general mailing lists
• Never used outside the event you are attending

The gig code you enter is stored only in your device’s local storage for convenience. This is controlled by your device, not by us.

1.5 Legal basis for processing

Your data is processed under UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b) – performance of a service: you are asking us to send your song request to the karaoke host.

1.6 Your rights

You may request:

• A copy of the data we hold about you
• Correction of inaccurate details
• Deletion of your request
• That we stop processing your data

2. Terms of Use

2.1 Purpose of the service

Murraoke enables event attendees to:

• Browse the karaoke song list
• Submit a song request
• Provide a name for the host to call you up

The service is intended solely for live karaoke events.

2.2 Your responsibilities

By using this site, you agree to:

• Enter the correct gig code for the event you are attending
• Provide a name or nickname that can reasonably be announced by the host
• Submit genuine song requests
• Avoid spamming or otherwise misusing the service

2.3 Prohibited behaviour

You must not:

• Send repeated or excessive requests intended to disrupt the event
• Attempt to guess or use gig codes for other venues
• Submit offensive, obscene, or hateful names
• Attempt to download or scrape the underlying song catalogue
• Reverse engineer, tamper with, or bypass any part of the service
• Use automation, bots, or scripts to submit requests
• Carry out denial-of-service or similar attacks

2.4 Availability

Murraoke is provided on a best-effort basis, as-is. We do not guarantee:

• Continuous uptime or availability
• That every request will be received or actioned immediately
• Compatibility with all devices or browsers
• That the host will select or call you in any particular order

The event host may disable or pause requests temporarily at their discretion.

2.5 Liability

We are not liable for:

• Missed, delayed, or unprocessed requests
• Network, device, or connectivity issues
• Decisions made by the karaoke host regarding song order or selection
• Any losses or damages arising from misuse of the service

3. Acceptable Use Policy

3.1 Expected behaviour

Users are expected to:

• Enter accurate gig codes for their event
• Use polite and appropriate names
• Make fair and reasonable song requests
• Respect the host’s decisions and running order

3.2 Unacceptable behaviour

You must not:

• Submit spam or rapid repeated requests to disrupt the system
• Use offensive, abusive, or hateful names
• Attempt to bypass request limits or cooldown periods
• Try to access internal systems or restricted parts of the service
• Scrape, copy, or otherwise misuse the song dataset
• Automate or script interactions with the site
• Interfere with other users or the host

3.3 Technical restrictions

The following actions are forbidden:

• Tampering with or forging request payloads
• Using invalid or spoofed gig codes
• Probing, scanning, or trying to exploit vulnerabilities
• Running large-scale automated requests against the service

3.4 Enforcement

We may take proportionate action in response to misuse, including:

• Enforcing cooldowns or temporary limits
• Blocking abusive devices or IPs
• Temporarily disabling requests during an event
• Informing venue staff in serious cases

3.5 Reporting misuse
